The imperative of STEM skills
Young Engineers encourages children at an early age to learn to embrace science, technology, engineering and maths in order to help them develop better insights and grasp difficult concepts in a more seamless and natural way. With that in mind, Young Engineers came together to create a unique education service for children with a particular focus on helping our little ones understand the basic pillars of the STEM skill set. In the fast-paced world of today, these subjects are quickly becoming fundamental skills in many different professions: studying such subjects at an early age and in a fun and interactive environment will give children a definite edge in life and will help them pursue their passion, their vision and their success through STEM.
Young Engineers utilises LEGO® bricks and robotics to deliver a fun and interactive learning approach to the basic STEM principles. Young Engineers provides a learning environment where children are educated and empowered to develop their skills and abilities in critical thinking, creativity, organisational skills, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Young Engineers offers interactive workshops and programs for primary school students from Year 1 to Year 6 & 7 through the use of LEGO® construction bricks. Our workshops and programs are positioned to support and enhance Victorian primary School teachers to assist in the implementation of the Australian Curriculum into the Classroom (C2C) syllabus but also investing in the development of the STEM skill set for children of the 21st Century.
By utilising the Young Engineers proprietary model plans designed by professional ICT experts, Engineers and Architects, classroom incursions take STEM concepts from the textbook into an imaginative, 3-dimensional, hands-on learning experience. Young Engineers can liaise with primary school teachers to determine which of our educational learning themes will most appropriately demonstrate core STEM concepts within the existing curriculum for Year 1 to Year 6. Each of our LEGO® construction models comprise at least two levels of difficulty specifically designed to cater to the different abilities of school students.
With programs that link directly with the Australian Curriculum, specifically the STEM subjects, Young Engineers can deliver a whole of school experience using LEGO® construction bricks to convey new and challenging concepts in the classroom environment. Young Engineers also offers robotics and coding programs for students that link with the Digital Technologies National Curriculum 2016.
